I made an AIC vimeo channel!
Anything about the AIC itself.

OK - I put Louder Than Words up on Vimeo. It's not bad, but can anyone tell me why there are lines wherever there is lots of motion? I'm following the conversion methods outlined but still have some blurriness around motion.
There is also the occasional orange flash, I don't know if that's a video artifact or someone in the audience using a camera+flashbulb.
Could it also be that it was not originally a digital recording, but rather a miniDV cassette that I digitized? If so, that would explain why the digitally created opening and closing credits are crystal clear.
Anyhooble, if someone could take a look at http://vimeo.com/18136502 and tell me if they see anything obvious I should be doing differently I'd appreciate it.

Slightly OT: cool, it looks like you can access vimeo from a Roku box. Has anybody tried that? At any rate, I am now even more tempted to buy one of those....

You never want to endanger your actors, for two reasons:
1. it's not nice,
2. it will slow you down.

GGG's "Snowglobe: The Musical" is now up. It looks better than "Louder Than Words". I'm sticking closer to the format the video was originally shot in rather than using the Vimeo guidelines. It's still a little funky, but at the compression ratio I had to use to get it to fit under 500MB, I'm not surprised.
When I get a chance, I'll redo "Louder Than Words".
I think I'm getting the hang of this slowly but surely.

Ooh, I figured out how to get my Roku box to list all the videos on the AIC vimeo channel.
Once you install the vimeo app on the Roku box and link it to your vimeo account, the app's top-level menu includes "My Inbox". When you first subscribe to vimeo, your inbox lists a ton of random videos you don't particularly care about. The key is to switch around your subscriptions so that "My Inbox" just lists the AIC vids.
First I edited my contact subscriptions so that I wasn't subscribed to any of my contacts. Then I edited my channel subscriptions so that I was only subscribed to "Austin Improv Collective Videos".
So at this point, my vimeo inbox will just list AIC videos, and I can easily get to that in the vimeo app.

WTF is a a "roku box", and how is it you have one? I thought it took a roku box to find another roku box.
