That's probably almost exactly when I went to a Doctor Who convention (maybe a year or two on either side, I must have been around 14 or 15, though), and got to meet John Pertwee and Nicholas Courtney (the Brigadier!) and eat some genuine jelly babies, which were so good. There were people with full-on Dalek getups, and I'd never seen anything so awesome in all my little life.

Oh, and my girlfriend in high school knitted me a full-on Tom Baker scarf, which was most likely destroyed in some kind of tragic accident a few years afterward.

From the plot summary: " As [the main character] investigates this phenomenon, he finds that the internal measurements of the house are somehow larger than external measurements. Initially there is less than an inch of difference, but as time passes the interior of the house is found to be seemingly expanding, while maintaining the same exterior proportions."

I've never seen Dr. Who, but improvised House of Leaves would beeeee crrrrraaazzzyyyy.

That was my first thought when I read the title of the thread too! That book made me afraid of houses for a while. I can't even imagine what it would look like as an improv show.....

When I was a child, I had a recurring dream about a house like this, with another disturbing feature: when you passed through a doorway, then turned to go back through it, it didn't always take you back from whence you came, but instead, lead to yet another room. Rooms did repeat themselves, but not predictably. It was not a happy place to be.

(i know, cheap shot, but i'm making it damn it! do not get the hype over that book...lol)

I would absolutely love to do special effects/tech, and basically -produce- the best DW show possible

Interestingly, I think my reaction to Dr. Who is similar to yours to House. I shrug it off, thinking "It's nothing like the hype. Pretentious nerd-chic drivel. I have better things to do than blah blah blah." We're all one in pretention, nowadays.

i don't know...i don't think Doctor Who takes itself seriously enough to be pretentious. but to each their own.
