OPEN LETTER TO MADELINE MALKA

Dear Madeline,

I don't know if you remember, but you wanted to discuss LOST with me a few weeks ago, but I had not seen the show. That was the final straw that broke my back. Soon thereafter I rented season 1 and began my journey.

As of last week, I caught up completely. I have enjoyed the show. Thank you for pushing me over the edge and into the mainstream of society.

I was pretty anti-Lost for a while, but after reading and listening some, and considering the thoughts and opinions of some of the people I respect, I reconsidered, and dove in.

I just finished season one last night. You bastards. Now I'm in it for the long haul.

The pilot episode is the best damn opening of any TV drama. Ever. And the 1st season is still my favorite.

Yeah I never get people who say they watched the pilot then stopped watching...How the hell could you watch that and not want to know what the hell is going on?

I agree. But there are actually some episodes that I like better than the pilot. For example, I like the opener for season 4 better. Freakin' love that episode.

Now THAT was a LOST episode. I was seriously close to almost perhaps maybe not wanting to watch the show any more.

If they can speed things up a bit and punch whoolops like they did last night, then the show might see me there at the end.

That was a solid, great episode. Don't even try to quit Lost, man. The island won't let you.

I t was, indeed, a solid episode. I didn't appreciate the smugness: Hurley saying, "Yeah, we've already known that," because it breaks down the fourth wall and winks at me when the show owes me more than a wink.

But now there is much more at stake for muliple parties and a sense of urgency has returned for the characters. Please heighten...please reveal more answers...please please me.

There are so many implications in "The Island won't let you." I mean what the fuck is that?! That is fuckin awesome!

In the first season of the series as all the weirdness was starting to unfold I remember the writers were saying in the press that everything in the island had real world explanations, that everything could happen now that is happening. So much for that I guess.

How does an island somewhere in the Pacific stop you from killing yourself in Manhattan? There is no real world explanation.

Also, if you watched the teaser for next week's episode, they count Aaron as one of the Oceanic 6 which brings about all sorts of logistical questions as he was not on the manifest and Kate clearly wasn't pregnant when she got on the plane and so how did she convince the world it was her son?

I think dude did something to the gun. I thought this when I heard this episode for the second time last night and heard him say "so did the bullet bounce off or did the trigger just lock up?".
