Also, I am wondering if that magical room that Locke's dad finally appeared in will have anything to do with how Ben gets to and from the island. What did he say about the room, that it responds to your wants or whatever. What if he used it to produce a second him? Or if he was able to reverse the process to send him to the mainland?
Well, for one thing, Ben called it a "box," not a room. They were just keeping Locke's dad in a room is all. But if you're saying what I think you're saying, Sawyer only killed ONE of Locke's dads. You did see the #15 rabbits in the video above, right?

Oh yeah, Andy... I've been thinking about it, and I finally agree with you that bearded Jack takes place after every other Jack we've seen. But I'm still not cozy with the alternate realities idea.

Of course, I doubt this to be the case, but all the phenomena stuff on the island (smoke arm of God, whispers, etc...) could just be electronic gadgetry. Yeah, the island may still have some intense physical properties, but what if it's just really filled with diamonds? I think about all the whoopla in Die Hard...how the terrorists wanted the cops to think it was a political thing that was going on, but, really, the terrorists were just thieves.
The more I think about Ben, the more I think that he is simply a great manipulator and that's it. "Walt's special." Whatver...for now. "Locke, you're special." Yeah, well not so much.
Who knows, maybe all this esp, spiritual stuff may not just be (ahem) smoke and mirrors.
Oh, God, I'm slipping from a Locke world into a Jack world...
Micheal in the coffin? Not a bad guess. Gotta be someone trying to be reclusive or something. Thinking maybe Locke. That he killed himself.

Ooo. Locke could be in the coffin! And that means that Jack was resolving his issues with Locke and the island simultaneously. He finally understood what Locke was trying to do and visited the coffin as part of that. That sounds most feasible so far.

Walt: special. He appears everywhere in spectre form, he attracts birds to their doom, and he was called out as inordinately taller than he should have been. Proof he is special.
Locke: special. His
spine was broken, man. And he walks. And he heard Jacob. He's special.
Locke dead? Nope. Jack was broken up about this person's death. Sure, people change, but dude, Jack wanted to kill Locke. He's not the one guy who'll show up to Locke's funeral. Locke lives.
Speaking of spines and technology, though, it occurs to me that we haven't seen deeply into the bowels of Old Smokey. Maybe inside all that smoke is some kind of nanotech spine that flies and goes click-click-click. Danielle, I thnk it was, called it a security system. That sounds like technology to me. And the Dharma Initiative were working on all kinds of wonky technologies, so they might have made the smoke monster. But that doesn't answer precisely what it does. What motivates the smoke monster?

Yeah, Locke seems like a good guess, but I'm struggling with the thought of putting that poor bastard through more shit. Like, he should live or die on the island. The thought of his faith being blown to bits make me really sad, though it makes for a great character arc.
I'll talk with my writers and see if we can reverse the current path we're on. Because I'm starting to feel badly about making the show too nilhistic.
I cannot reveal what motivates the smok monster excpet to say that it is scared of you unless it smells your fear. Then you become a tree/human physics experiment.

Okay. If
that's your angle, and if it's true, then my desire for a fulfilling story arc would be for Jack to return to the island and take on the roles of both: man of science, man of faith. Then he rescues everybody and so on.

Yes, I do know/feel that Locke and Walt are special. [By the way, puberty--for the producers--is a bitch.]
One thought I had awhile back is that everything from Walt's imagination was making certian things happen. Like the Polar bears in his comic book as well as the Atlantisian shield around the island. That things can change in the blink of an eye depending on Walt's imagination, and that it was necessary to take Walt off the island (after tests had been done and it was determined that Walt's imagination needed to remain in check until he reached a mature age...otherwise he would start imagining Kate naked and whoola! or imagine some character from his video and whoola!) Remeber when Walt's comic was thrown into the fire...a very important moment for Walt (in how it was shot, a little drama).
Locke is a little LOST right now, but I think he'll be back on track soon. Depending on what the other writers think. Walt though? We'll see. Some think he is evil and caused Shannon to die. It was either just an accident or Ben needed Siyheed (sp?) to get his head out of pants b/c (as someone stated earlier) Siyheed has been working with Ben from before the island or shortly thereafter...
Has anyone figured out who/what Jacob is yet?

YOWZA! Now that's my kinda episode. Let us discuss!

I liked: The first time military-Desmond reveals to a soldier his time-jumping problem (or, his problem of being "unstuck" in time), he tells it to a soldier named Billy. To me, that's a reference to Billy Pilgrim. And I loved the whole redux 1.21 Jigowatts going on.
