I'm kinda disturbed by the end with Kate and Aaron. Not because I think that Claire might be dead. But because I want the Oceanic 6 to hurry up and go back to the island.

Do y'all think the new ep might have taken place after (the survivors of?) the Oceanic 6 returned to the island and then came back to civilization once and for all? Do you know what I mean? 'Cause if they really need to go back, like "Charlie" says, and like Jack cries about, then one would assume that after they go back and save the day, they return back to the regular world again.

So do you think we saw an event that took place after all of that happened? Not only was Aaron like 3 or 4 years old, but there was a little salty grey on Jack's hair, too.

Either that, or... nobody ever goes back to the island until after 4 or so years, which is something I don't want to be the case. Because I'm guessing the reason they need to go back is because there are survivors and others suffering on the island, and they need to be rescued. So, I hope that Eggtown takes place after everybody has totally been rescued and lived happily ever after.

my hypothesis is - is that the show is actually exploring something akin to string theory and it's affect on space/time continuum. admittedly, i don't know a lot about physics, but i think these flashes aren't necessarily ALL linear. some of them are, some exist in parallels.

that's just my plink plink for the week.

Claire either has to stay on the island or dies and Kate takes Aaron and raises it as her own... she has to lie in order to keep him.

Jack is bothered by this because off the island, he knows he's Aaron's uncle and feels uncomfortable lying to him because they're going to be lying to Aaron about who his dad really is.

Erika, your theory is similar to the popular Time Loop theory.

I agree with this, but it doesn't address my point, which is to try to determine when that story took place in relation to the arrival of the Oceanic 6.

Everything so far is before Jack freaks out and grows a beard. Gotta be an alternate future that is somehow avoidable by the actions on the island.

Prediction: the missing helicopter is going to land in L.A., pick up the Oceanic 6 and fly them back in time to the island to stop Ben from killing his past self (who is also his man on the boat).

I'm back! My lost journey has led me back to the forum.

I gotta say, watching the show on dvd was sweet. No commercials, obviously, but I found myself at work one day saying to myself, "I've got to get back to the island." One Saturday, Danu and I watched seven or eight episodes.

One issue I have is that the narrative drags a bit. Season two would have been one episode Simon and Simon. I call it the Season of the Hatch. I think they were a little redundant with the flashbacks in season two. I get it. Kate is on the run. Sawyer cons people.

And just how long does it take to walk to and from various spots on the island?

Overall, I love the show.

What I'm curious about is the make-up of those who were once The Others. Some were prisoners taken from the other half of the plane. Some were, what, scientists? Book club members?

So, do you suppose that Ben is actually the island's protector from all those who want in on the island action. That's his deal right? Supposing there aren't two Bens, I guess he splits his time between protecing the island from within and in the outside world. That's kinda cool...

here's the theory, written in "spoiler" indigo: What if the guy who Sayid answered to in the veterinary clinic at the end of 403 was in fact not Ben Linus, or at least not the Ben Linus of whom we know on the island? I'm not sure how that's relevant to the main story arc, but if there are two Bens, that fact might end up being a big piece of the puzzle...

Welcome back, Chris. No, the smoke monster is a bunch of puppets in dust devils. You know, those creepy, Chucky-like puppets, and those dust devils that go *click click* and hate magnets.

F'reals though, I suppose you're theorizing about what the heck's Ben's deal in general? Like, why is he there doing all those weird, horrible things? Yeah, maybe he's some hired gatekeeper, making sure nobody knows anything without proper clearance from The Hanso Foundation or from The Widmore Group or something.

Speaking of, they're gonna have to bring back The Hanso Foundation into the story line. In Season 2 it was a big deal, and it appears to be nefarious and ginormous (as big as a vagina), and it seems to me like The Hanso Foundation must be behind all the lies about the plane crash and who survived. But then there's the Widmore Group, which, if memory serves me well, were the folks who lured Juliet to the island. And then there's Penny Widmore, etc.) I don't think I'm very good at developing theories, because they always fall apart by the time I think I've figured it all out.

Today I was in like an hour-long conversation about who's in the coffin. Our theory, that we kept supporting for a while with different facts, was that Claire was in the coffin. Does anybody remember if the gender of the person in the coffin was said? I think I recall Jack saying something like, "his funeral." Bah.

I think I remember Kate naming the gender as him. I predict Michael to be in the coffin.

Also, I am wondering if that magical room that Locke's dad finally appeared in will have anything to do with how Ben gets to and from the island. What did he say about the room, that it responds to your wants or whatever. What if he used it to produce a second him? Or if he was able to reverse the process to send him to the mainland?

Although they had a little bit more face time this go 'round, I still think Sun & Jin are overdue for some quality focus this season. The longer I wait, the more I think Jin is in the coffin.
