If anyone wants to see Maestro but not play, it'd be awesome if you'd volunteer to work in the box office or take tickets!
(Same goes for Start Trekkin'!)
Just PM me to let me know.
Thanks,
Madeline

I was a recipient of a pity beer last Maestro. I'd like to play to redeem myself.

Good gravy, ya'll, that was the best Maestro I've been a part of in a very long time. To give those of you some idea of the craziness, the last round featured 4 solo scenes, by Kaci, Chris Allen, Mike Kinald, and Tom Booker, and they all got well deserved 5s.
So much awesome stuff.

Maestro rock stars, all of 4 of them. Badass.
FOR THE RECORD

I just wanted to list the four solo scenes with a brief description of each since it may be a long time before four back-to-back solo scenes each rank a 5.
KACI did a toast at a wedding inspired by a recent wedding she attended. Kaci played a drunken woman who worked with the bride in the same office and she was upset that her friend was being taken away from her--as if marriage would ruin the bonds of friendship. The wedding caused her so much distress and Kaci absolutely nailed it.
==Then Mike had to follow this 5 with his own solo scene.==
MIKE did a sermon about coupons. And of course, he totally hit it out of the park. He used strips of paper taken off the floor from an earlier scene and read those scribbled audience lines totally as if they were his own lines. Jump and justify. Also, when Booker came out to play Christ on the cross, Mike endowed Booker as an actual member of the church playing the part of Christ. Beautiful
==Then Ceej came out and really thought, "Ah, geez fuck. Forget it. I'm just gonna have fun."==
CEEJ did demon voice wherein his task was to feed a baby cheetah at the zoo. The voice made him drink from the bottle, pour milk on his head and go and try to cuddle up to mama cheetah as if he were the baby cheetah. Great support from Kaci as the mama cheetah and Booker as Mama's tail.
==Then Booker stepped up and Roy, said, "You're on your own, Tom," and pulled the lights. Seriously. Just that fast.==
BOOKER went meta on us and spoke out what he had been thinking during Ceej's solo scene. He sat in a chair as if he were in the wings. He talked a lot about how he hoped Kaci didn't think it pervy of him playing her tail because she's a friend. The close proximity of the two became a sorta angst-ridden comical confession for Tom. Just what the show needed at the end. A commentary of sorts on playing within a scene. Amazing! And with his 5, Tom became the Maestro.

I thought Kaci's character was overwhelmingly HAPPY and sentimental that the bride and groom were so perfect for each other. If there was distress about a threatened friendship, I missed that through her slurring and crying.
