Exactly. Speaking for myself as an rather extreme introvert, being around people takes energy out of me. It doesn't mean I don't enjoy it or have no social skills whatsoever - it just means it's draining. Whereas time spent doing things alone is rejuvenating.

Another way I've heard it described is that the introvert finds life in his/her own head more interesting than the world outside. I'm not entirely comfortable with this description as it manages to sound both a little smug and as if it could also apply to schizoids and catatonics. But the idea would seem logical for certain types of creatives who have to spend a lot of time in the internal world, especially for those who's work is largely solitary (writers, composers and the like).

EDIT: I just went to the site and looked at some of the people who share the INTP type. I'm feeling a little flattered: Einstein, Darwin, Madison, Pascal... Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen?!!!! WTF?!!!

My work paid for my testing about 7 years ago, and I came out an INTJ, like most computer scientists.. and then something happened. I'm not really sure what that thing was. Maybe a kiss from a boy.

I'm INFJ - The "Confidant", according to the results, but I don't know if it's true. Taking these tests reveals much more about my personality than the actual results. I can debate and reason both possible answers to each question (with few exceptions), and I always feel like I've picked the "wrong" answer.

Interestingly, I am split almost down the middle on both Thinking/Feeling and Judging/Perceiving. That makes sense to me, since every test I've taken like this always has me split between scientific and artistic, right brained and left brained.

Seriously, though, ENTP when I tried this test, although I've been INTJ when I've taken it before. I think it's just - you know, that people change over time.

These things make me nervous after I took the Match test with my wife to see if we would match up.

She matched up with some hunky dude and I "Have a rare personality type that Match can not help match up" or as I read it, "You are crazy and we will not help you find your next victim... psycho."

I used to be right on the line between INFP and ENFP, but it looks like performing/training for the past few months has changed that.

I had to do this for a class once.

ISTP all the way.
