I'm a gigantic fan of the Tobolowsky files, wherein character actor Stephen Tobolowsky spins monologues about life, love and the entertainment industry. It's endlessly fascinating to me.

Hamish Blake may forever be my favorite radio / podcast personality. Incredible improviser too., from what I've seen.

He hosts a national radio show in Australia, but they make a podcast out of it.

Stuff You Should Know with Josh and Chuck is great great great. Not improv or comedy, but an easy-on-the-ears general knowledge podcast.

I LOVE PODCASTS!!

Here are my recommendations. They aren't always funny, per se, but they are always engaging. Several of these are NPR / PRI shows and associated shows.

The Moth - true stories told live without notes
This American Life
Planet Money (no Marketplace for me, thanks)
Selected Shorts - short (usually fiction) stories read aloud by actors and actresses
Snap Judgement - intro is always a little long and belabored, but very worth while. Similar to This American Life.
Fresh Air
New Yorker Fiction podcast
Wait! Wait! Don't Tell Me!
The ABCs of SNL - I just discoverer this a few days ago, and I'm not quite through the first episode downloaded. That said, it seems to be a podcast dedicated to interviewing SNL cast members.

The only dud I want to caution against is called "Story Worthy." I tried to be patient, really, but after ten minutes of the two "hilarious and engaging and totally original hosts" poor excuse for banter, I had to cut it off. Supposedly these people get to telling storiea or having guests tell stories, but not until they do their worst. It was like listening to the world's worst morning show DJs ever.

It's funny, I was just reading this thread and PGraph just retweeted a podcast called Improvised New York that covers the NY Improv Scene, but it seems most of the podcasts are them interviewing teachers/actors and talking about forms. I'm going to listen to some and I'll let you know.

Also the Poor Choices Show is based out of iO I think, they have many interviews with people from iO (Charna Halpern, etc.) and it's pretty good overall.

I was going to write what Hess wrote! That podcast is great. The Jet episode is easily my favorite. There are a lot of great podcasts in the How Stuff Works app. My personal favorite is "Stuff Mom Never Told You". But there is some dude stuff too like "Car Stuff"...

These are shorter podcasts that are quick and get to the point but you still learn something at the end of the day.
