Andrew Bird. Haven't seen him live before, but his albums are really good.

I'm going to Damien Rice, Indigo Girls and Arcade Fire.
Muse puts on a really great live show, even if you're not a huge fan of their music. I don't really enjoy listening to their albums, but their stage presence and theatrics are awesome.

Check out Midlake (I'd recommend their album The Trials of Van Occupanther) and see if you like their sound. They're from Denton and, based on what you said about folksy sound, I think you might find them entertaining.
