looking back on it, it seems silly. We just needed something to light a fire under our asses to make us get ready to perform.
Find a group of like-minded people you want to perform with, and book a gig 2 or 3 months down the road. You'll be forced to rehearse and get ready for the show.
Email/PM dave buckman and get yourselves a 3-fer slot for January or February.
Where are all the new troupes?
Everything else, basically.

Just do it. A bunch of us started rehearsing on our own while still in level 3. And we were going to the jam so we could steal people from other classes as well.montysmith wrote:The rest of the students in Level 3 and I are all talking about forming a troupe after the graduation show. We're just not sure how to go about it.
Any of us would be happy to help and we would love to see you guys at the AIC family party on Nov 12, 4 pm.

a few things:
1.) Bob Mcnichol is right, the cagematch as well as maestro are great, seductive, non-threatening starting points.
2.) The cagematch will be featuring a new team this Friday featuring at least one new person. Mr.Happy Ray of Sunshine OB.GYN. & the purple bear with no birthday will be challenging Chris Trew and Arthur Simone sing The Rent Soundtrack!
3.) I've been encouraging/trying to trick my friends into getting involved in the AIC by taking them to shows and to parties. It seems to be working because they keep saying "those level one classes at coldtowne are free, right?", and now joke with me about our household cagematch team "THE BLACKMETAL MURDER SQUAD" who currently perfom in our kitchen/library.
4.) I would like to be forced to throw a party at my house.
5.) Kareem is awesome.
6.) I'm floating in a void looking for fresh faced teammates to stir up some noise. What's it look like over there level three class?
Also, are there untapped resources of potential students? Like lower level acting classes at UT and ACC? I just signed up for one next semester and I intend on encouraging everyone in it to get involved by telling them about how doing improv will help them as actors...I know that gigglepants is an organization at UT but there is no AIC student organization...maybe I should start it. Both for the good of the AIC, and so they might let me into film school.

If I might...
I can remember a time when we were worried about 'new blood' entering the Hideout/Theatersports/Heroes arena. This was in a time when Craig, Jeremy, Shana, Lauren Zinn, and I literally performed in every show we put up. It was tiring. And we were looking for more people to give us a break, and to be able to grow the scene.
And then all of you people came along, and look what happened. There are so many more cohesive people in the scene now than ever before. Just give it a little time, and it will grow. There's always a point, just before another growth spurt, when it seems like everyone is taxed and giving as much as they can, and when it seems like they can't take it anymore, it grows again.
Ask Bob Apthorpe about that. Or Andy Crouch. Or Jeremy. They'll most likely tell you the same.

"Oh, shit. We're being pulled over."
"Is it us?"
"No, it's someone else, and he's pulling us over to tell us who it is, like a courtesy"

Yeah, where are they...
...cuz I'm gonna need one after the new year and I'm starting to think hard about
what I really want to get out of improv and all these new format ideas are flying out
of my head like meth freak Athenas.
A teaser of sorts...and I thank you...

Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.
