Exactly this. At many theaters, it's an extremely competitive process where making it onto a team is just the beginning.

one of the many reasons i'm grateful so much of Austin improv operates differently, and why i prefer troupes to teams. ;)

I think I'm starting to take to the word "group" but I wonder if that sounds too nebulous...

If we were going to make up a new word to refer to teams/troupes, which we are by no means doing, I would consider the word "groupe."

Hope that contributes to the discussion!

I prefer troupe, but I like how team conveys the idea of working together for a common goal.

I've always use 'group' but since the question was 'team or troupe' I'll choose 'troupe' because it sounds the most like 'group'.
