There are four scheduled shows, all Saturdays at 11:30. They are September 9, 16, 23, 30.

I want to have at least 2 meetings toward the end of this month, once I put together a little packet of Shakespearean techniques and characters, etc. I really don't want this show to be just a slapdash job.
Then I want to have 1 rehearsal a week in August (minus the one week I'll be in San Fran and maybe the week before OoB since I know people will be doing various things to help get ready for that). And then continue with a rehearsal a week in September. So, by the last show we'll hopefully have had as many as 7 or 8 rehearsals to really get good and 3 or 4 before the first.

Phil, glad to have you aboard. We should talk about the directing idea at one of the meetings. I don't know that I want directors actively directing during the show, but maybe you could run the rehearsals for a certain format. Same with anyone else, if you like and are familiar with a particular Shakespearean gimmick, let me know and you may be teaching us all.

As the resident Elizabethan Theatre Scholar (my specialization is revenge tragedy), I'd be happy to advise...

Forsooth, I shall make hay whilst the sun rises! Provided you can handle me doing only the first show and the last show, because I'll be otherwise booked on the weekends of the 16th and the 23rd. What sayeth thou, sirrah?

Hey Shakespeare folks--any of you who are thinking of doing this show might also want to take Karen Wight's Improv Shakespeare class during Out of Bounds. Right before your run, maybe some good pointers/tips. It'll probably be on Friday, September 1 of the festival. More details soon.

I'm interested.

I took a 8 hour workshop on improvised Shakespeare at BATS several years ago.
