sorry Dave, Bob, etc.
I hear ya', but put yourself in Andy Reid's shoes for a second (not to mention, put yourself in front of a Philly home crowd).

For better or worse, this is about the W-L column. Cruelty to animals doesn't take points off the board.

Not with Bob Sanders out.

For Brockman:

How does it feel having #4 as sloppy THIRDS? Is he looking a little less than exceptional? Is he interceptional?

</trash talk>

Peterson is beyond a doubt good, though, I say grudgingly.

He's back on the field for practice this week.

I didn't say I liked/respected/wanted to blow #4, sloppily or otherwise. I'm just trying to get some of y'all to look at this as a business decision. Since when has the NFL preferred to start model citizens over asshats who know where the endzone is?

Sorry, Emily, if I've smudged your rose-colored glasses.

Anyway, Reid's still saying Kolb's the man (as I predicted). Let's see how long that lasts. Vick haters - hope like crazy that Kolb throws for 300+ and a couple of TDs next time he's behind center.

Possibly he's out doing some non-contact work but ESPN reports he has a torn biceps tendon (like Favre in the Jets year) and will be meeting with Dr. James Andrews this week. I'm guessing he's done for the regular season with a chance of coming back for the post.

Update: Sanders had surgery today. Out indefinitely. Staying on the roster, though. I guess the Colts are hoping he can come back for the playoffs.

Did I call that or what?

Also: Vick gets the start this week. Get ready to root for the Lions who are starting, uh, Shaun Hill. Nevermind - just don't watch.

Nah, it was great. It's just hard to light-heartedly trash-talk back when the subject in question is someone who has electrocuted dogs for fun.

So... your team (Steelers? I forget) yeah, they suck goat balls. :)

My mom is playing fantasy football this year for the first time ever.

Her quarterback is Drew Brees.

I had him last year and I dominated. I also didn't have one player from the Cowboys on my team. GIANTS REPRESENT.

Oh, of course - no wonder I hate you even thought you're so lovable.

Sorry about your HALFBACK! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

</trash talk>

In a cruel twist of fate, I've got Rodgers as my QB this year. So I have to root for him. May he throw for 400 yds and 4 TDs every game and yet still lose.

Kinda like Peterson last week. 4.6 avg. and still my Vikes lose. Just watch - it'll be two years ago and 8 man fronts for him again in no time. Who knew they'd miss Syd Rice that much? Please, oh please go get V-Jax.

It's too early to tell, but my week 1 gut is telling me it's a tossup between our teams for the NFC North and either of them are one and done in the post-season. I don't think your O-line-Grant is good enough, and I don't think Favre+Childress-Rice+banged up secondary can pull it off.

Like I said, though - it's a little early for those kind of predictions. That's just my gut talking to me.

Cheesehead.

One more 3-pick special and I may splurge on a ticket from MPLS to Hattiesburg myself. The old man doesn't look like he's having fun anymore.

And it's not like one can ask any more of AP. 28 carries, 145 yds., a TD, 5.2 YPC and he's carrying high and tight and holding on to the ball. Apparently he did his summer homework.

Seriously, though - if this keeps up - anyone want to start a pool on the benching date of a legend? Or take bets on who'll be the new HC in 2011?

That may be my biggest gripe. 4th and goal at the 1, MIN brings in three tight ends and line them up right, MIA stacks right (no CB to the L.), all that has to happen is a pitch L. into space and McKinnie and Hutch have to tangle up one DL apiece. AP should walk in, or at worst - have to make 1 alert (and quick) Safety miss or beat him to the pylon. What's the call? Run gut right behind Herrera and Loadholt into the center of effing everybody. So bad call by Childress/Bevell compounded by Favre not checking off the play at the line. THERE WERE 20-25 YDS WITHOUT A DEFENDER IN THEM TO THE LEFT!

This has nothing to do with Rice being out or Favre's ankle being sore etc. etc. This is "braintrust" failure.
