Brockman live taping

Post by mpbrockman »

Hey folks,

I am in need of a video of me playing live cover music for a couple of agencies (no-one just seems to want just audio anymore). Therefore, Kareem and the Hideout Theatre folks (bless their hearts) have agreed to let me kick off Wafflefest by doing a show with just me, a piano and a microphone.

I have the camera, and a person to run it. All I need is you!

So, upstairs at the Hideout next Thursday from 630-730 I will be playing/singing/taking requests and taping it all for a good cause. Me.

So bring your singalong voice and join me. Some songs I pretty much have to do (so be warned, I will have to play "Piano Man" and some standard piano bar stuff), but other than a few things like that - I'll do my best with requests and generally try to entertain y'all. It would mean a lot to me if we could fill the place up and have some fun with it. So, I'll hope to see you there.

Don't forget: that Thursday also features GGG and Louder Than Words who I will also be playing with. It's a MPB three-fer - and, of course WAFFLES FOR ALL!

Thanks, folks!

BUMP!

Guess what? If you can't make it Thursday, I',m going to do another taping from 5p-7P at Cafe Caffeine before our ComedySportz show.

Yes, two days in a row! Pick one and be there. It would mean a lot to see some AIC folks turn out to lend me a hand. Plus, it could (should) be fun.

Cafe Caffeine is at 909 W. Mary St.

No cover, just show up and bring some requests and your best singalong voice.

Thanks to those of you who poked your heads in for this. We got some good footage.

Reminder: If you couldn't make it Thursday, I'm doing another taping from 5p-7P at Cafe Caffeine Friday 11.19 before our ComedySportz show.

Yes, two days in a row! Afterwords you can stick around for the hilarity of ComedySportz or, if you prefer, head down to the Hideout for MORE WAFFLES or even ... BOTH!!!

Cafe Caffeine is at 909 W. Mary St. I hope to see some of you there.

You didn't miss too much. My voice was pretty gravelly and some drunk guy kept following Lisa around as she was trying to tape me. So I've got at least and hour of footage of me sounding Mellencamp/Joe Cocker-ish and the blather of this idiot who didn't seem to realize the camera was real mixed in with the audio.

I can do some wonders with audio editing - but that guy is embedded in the original track. Not much I can do.

But anyway, we're pretty sure we've got the 7-10 minutes I need. If it turns out to be otherwise I'll do this again somewhere and will let you all know.

So - I'm going to be wrestling with Premiere and Movie Maker this week. If I start losing my mind - who's the video editing genius out there?

Actually first I need to pick the clips, strip and sweeten the audio. Then I'll need to put it all together. Yeeeks...

It only took 5 months and the purchase and subsequent study of a 450 page Premiere Pro "Classroom In a Book" (with instructional DVD), but if anybody's interested, I finished it.

It may be worth watching if for no other reason than to hear Beeler yell "SEXY" when I extol the virtues of Monster energy drinks.
