Moth Up Open Mic is Back!

Post by valetoile »

Welcome one and all the triumphant return of the Moth Up to Coldtowne Theater!

At 9:30pm Thursday, October 21 and the last Thursday of the month thereafter, come and gather to tell your stories and hear others, all told live without notes. Put your name in the hat, and we'll draw to see who gets up on stage to tell their story. You have a five minute limit.

Each Moth Up has a theme, and this time the theme is "Escape." Take the theme as loose and open to interpretation.

How do you tell a story? Go listen to some episodes of The Moth podcast to get a taste of it, and visit themoth.org for tips and info.

Speak up if you're planning on coming!

Also, listen to our friend and Moth Grand Slam winner Stephen C. James, of LA's Nerdvana and The Tuskegee Experiment, on the latest podcast!

Is this the same thing that happened at ColdTowne several months ago and featured "Broken Heart" stories? If so, it was really special and people should try to make it out.

Yes it is! Val has taken over. It's a fun event and it's completely F-R-E-E!

Oooh, awesome! My roommate was super interested in doing some readings there, so I'll pass the info. along. Thanks for starting that up again, Jastroch!

Bump! This is tomorrow! (or probably tonight by the time you're reading it). I hope you've all had a story-worthy week.

I think I'll come out tonight. Although, those who know me know I sometimes suck at having to winnow down a story to less than five minutes.
