As the festival continues to reach new heights, we're in need of two trustworthy and responsible souls to help manage box office operations at our venues.
We'd need one person each at the Hideout and SVT to take charge of box operations at the venue. This means being present at your venue every night of the festival, ensuring that the box office volunteers have everything they need to do their jobs well, filling in in the box office if it gets hectic or a volunteer misses their shift, and making sure that all ticketing information is rock solid by the end of the night so the festival knows how much each group deserves to be paid.
You'll be my second in command when it comes to box office operations, so I prefer someone who is not afraid to make decisions, while having the wisdom to escalate a problem to me if it is beyond your comfort zone.
You get: all fruit snacks you can eat (seriously, I always stock the box offices), access to any show that is not sold out while there is no box office activity (you'll catch the middle act of most sets, and the last 2/3 or so of the last act of the night), and the satisfaction of seeing many hundreds of happy audience members experience improv, many for the very first time.
Having a laptop or iPhone is a plus, as I'm trying to move as much of the ticketing as possible to our online reservations system this year. If not, we can find a way to equip you appropriately. I'll take care of setting up each box office with starter cash, access to the online reservation system, building the event pages, etc, but I need your help to actually make it happen every night of the festival.
