Hey funny and punny ppl!
Catalyst 8 -- the yuppie group that raises $$$ to help put ppl like YOU (improvisers looking for that next step towards FORTUNE, GLORY, and FAME) into the Long Center -- is about to have their major FUNDRAISER PARTY... a DJ party in August that will make them a ton of CASH. But they need a new name. What about it? Can you guys suggest a witty, pithy name for this groups awesome party?? Currently it is the "Bash". Hm.
I and Mike McGill sit on the "Boost" committee that helps get ppl into the Long Center. We are trying to shepherd the future of this org to include Avant Gaurde Arts... like improv. The current agenda for "Boost" includes the following:
1) New name or theme for the party -- 2009 was "Catalyst 8 BASH 09 "
2) DJ selection - looking for hopefully 3 DJs at $100 (or free) each
3) Drink sponsorship - coordinate with Andrew and Scott if you have an idea for this -- not so sure any of you can help with this...
4) Creative ways to generate additional funds at the party (along the lines of a donation jar but something more fun)
5) Any ideas for other entertainment... IMPROV??? (FYI: The last party -- Mad Hatter -- had a BURLESQUE group).
FYI... All net proceeds of the event fund Catalyst 8's Boost Rental Subsidy Program, which offsets rental fees for small and emerging arts groups which without our support would not be able to access the world-class facilities at The Long Center.
