This is awesome. Thanks, Drew.Dru Down wrote:I like Lost humour which also includes a synopsis of what's going on. Win-win.

Peter, I recall a recent post-LOST outside-the-Alamo chat where somebody was asking why Ben (Henry Gale) got himself captured in season 2. The above cartoon is basically a hilarious version of my response to that question.

It's sideways Walt.Jeff wrote:So we all know who that kid who keeps pestering Esau is, right? Duh, right? I won't even say it, because it's too obvious.
Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.

Perhaps the "new" jacob in both. Smokey looked pretty scared when desmond said what is there to be afraid of? And instead of beating him senseless he dropped him in a deep well.Asaf wrote:So is Desmond Jacob in the other world?
And definitely doing Jacob-like things in the new world to move people together

Last night's kid looked like a totally different kid than the one from before. And Smokey seems to want to ignore him rather than deal with him. If it was Jacob, I'd think he'd try to trick someone into killing him again.Lants wrote:As in whose form he's taking or who he really is?Jeff wrote:So we all know who that kid who keeps pestering Esau is, right? Cuz he LOOKS like young Jacob
It's the same kid.Justin D. wrote: Last night's kid looked like a totally different kid than the one from before. And Smokey seems to want to ignore him rather than deal with him. If it was Jacob, I'd think he'd try to trick someone into killing him again.
And the reason he may be scared is because he knows he broke the rules and Jacob's coming back, which would mean he doesn't have much time.
I'm fairly sure this is at least supposed to LOOK like young Jacob. He has the same outfit that the mysterious figure inside the cabin had on and he looks like Jacob.
Yeah, that's possible. My question was playful and rhetorical and I wanted to see what people would say. I think it's funny that they've introduced a new mysterious character in this season of "answers". But maybe their loophole here is that he's not really a new character because he's actually young Jacob.Lants wrote:As in whose form he's taking or who he really is?Jeff wrote:So we all know who that kid who keeps pestering Esau is, right? Oh, come on -- we really know what's really going on here. A show gets a little long in the tooth, and suddenly they're all, "Let's shoehorn in a cute-kid character! It'll boost ratings!"Jeff wrote:Yeah, that's possible. My question was playful and rhetorical and I wanted to see what people would say. Now we get episodes where everyone gets up to wacky hijinx taking care of the mysterious island boy. I'll bet his name turns out to be "Oliver Kendall" or something.

The secret of communicating with another person, I suspect, may be in communicating with who he thinks he is.

One strange thing about Alpert is, they make it seem like he's been on the Island, and only on the Island, since the Black Rock landed there. But what about his visit to Locke as a young boy, and what about his representing Widmore Industries in Washington (?) to recruit Juliet to go to the Island? I wonder how all that came about.the_reverend wrote:i think which ever candidate winds up being the new Jacob (if that is in fact what we're leading up to), Desmond will be the new Richard. just something that popped into my head during the episode...

i've heard the theory that the Sideways timeline was created by the bomb's detonation...but i'm starting to think it's more a world where the bomb DIDN'T detonate...because the Losties never went back in time...because they never came to the Island...because the EMP from the Swan never crashed 815...because the energy was never destabilized...because the bomb didn't detonate...because the Losties never went back in time...because...because...because...
in which case...what sunk the Island in that timeline?
