Volunteer Improvisers for Date Auction!

Mike Ferstenfeld and I are producing/writing/performing a short film called When You Reach September, and since movies are expensive, we're throwing a multi-media arts festival benefit party over on the east side the night of Saturday, May 1.

We're holding a date auction at this event, but it's a date with a character-- a superhero, a movie star, a cartoon character, a monster, whatever, as long as it's outrageous.

So we'd have an auctioneer introducing the characters (the more made up/in costume, the better for the characters), and the characters would walk up and down runway-style, then get on the mic and say just a little bit, then the bidding would start.

The really fun part is, when the winning bidder goes on a date with that character (at some later date, some time in May), the date will be taped reality show style (Real Dates With Fake People), so the improviser would be free and encouraged to amp up the theatre of the event*. The date itself will just be some cheap lunch at a burger joint or taco stand or something, and the date and the character can go dutch on the tab.

Of course, we're looking for men and women both.

looks like i'll be here for most of May. still some costuming concerns as far as building a "character" goes, but if you need a spare date i can possibly cook something up...
