Confidence Men: Improvised Mamet, masters of rat-a-tat, funny flim-flam, and at least two pronunciations of "c***," up the ante in WOMEN WITH CONFIDENCE. A seductive new shill is cast for each week's swindle--premiere Austin improvisers Shana Merlin, Madeline Malka, and Lauren Zinn, respectively--to push the grift of laughter even further.


Confidence Men--voted Best of Week at FronteraFest 2010, nominated for the B. Iden Payne award for Excellence in Improvisational Theatre in 2009, and an official selection in four comedy festivals around the country in the last year--improvise original two-act plays in the style of modern American playwright David Mamet, and feature a live 45-second musical intermission by clarinetist Tara Buentello.

WOMEN WITH CONFIDENCE plays Thursdays at 8pm on March 25, April 1, and April 8. A different act opens each night, including DUSK: Improvised Tween Erotica on April 1. The whole jig goes up at Salvage Vanguard Theater (2803 Manor Rd). $10.
