Rare Opportunity to Enjoy Live Movement and Music Improvisation
Distinguished artists from the Austin scene collaborate in six
performances of improvised movement and sound.
IMPROVISATIONAL MOVEMENT PROJECT
The Improvisational Movement Project works with the notion of the body
as a direct experience of live time and space in collaboration with
the physical sciences.
As Austin's only dance company dedicated to researching and presenting
"composition in the moment," IMP focuses on elements of choreography
that can be called upon instantly. Emphasis is placed on the
flexibility to respond to any occurrence with clarity and innovation,
choosing when and how to accept information that comes in through the
skin, eyes and ears.
An exciting collaboration between contemporary dancers and musicians,
IMP is a collective of performers from a variety of movement
backgrounds that combine to create a unique performance style that is
raw, theatrical, and highly engaging. Each night will be different so
keep coming back to see what will happen!
Dancers include: Lance Harris, Karen Morris, Julie Nathanielsz, Kate
Robinson, Lauren Tietz
Musicians appearing on different nights include: Tom Benton and Adam
Sultan
