Geese Theater did prison tours, but I'm not sure they did improv. Shaun Landry tells me about it. I think Dave Razowsky did it too.

yeah, shaun hooked me up with some contact info a long while ago of someone she worked with on that. i didn't follow through though because i moved somewhere instead. it's definitely a long-term goal of mine. and yeah, johnny cash's folsom and san quentin shows were inspiration for it. although, hes a bit a cooler than a bunch of dorky white kids would be on a prison tour. anyway, logistics. it can all be worked out. just not now.

I'd want to do a show at Cabaret Voltaire, but only on the night of its long-overdue and appropriate demolition

failing that, I'd love playing to humanity's last survivors in a fallout shelter

i know this is a little more down to earth...but as far as local spots that have yet to get the improv treatment (unless Les comes in and corrects me) is Symphony Square. I always thought it would be a great outdoor venue for Queso Fest! a Tex then a Mex double showing (Serrano's occupies the adjacent building and you can have food/margaritas while watching a show)

The stage is small but it has a balcony, bridge and moat...they seem kinda usable in service of a show:

also - the show would have Bjork, Sigur Ros and a completely unnecessary bear rug.

that's the old capstone of the dome of the building that was recycled as an art project. The lights are programmable but are left on random 99% of the time. I would love to see the entire "City Terrace" used more. It's a crying shame that that space is not better programmed.

Actually, GGG did a benefit thing here a year or two ago. No bear rug, but there were, um, rather attractive belly dancers on the same bill. Yeeouch!

I'm sorry I missed that. Serves me right for not dreaming bigger.

wow, i love that space. ripe for the first-ever outdoor oob show...?!... it reminds of one on the san antonio river walk that i used to fantacize about doing shows at. i might have to try to swing that at some point, bjork or no.
the question, how many cupholders would end up in the moat by the end? answer 100%

Seriously, what a cool idea. Wouldn't a lot of these places be condemned/unsafe? I can see a bureaucratic nightmare of permit-getting unfolding.
