My final Pint Night...the end of an era! Come raise a glass!

Post by Rev. Jordan T. Maxwell »

Ages ago, Jeff Amos and I discovered a most peculiar event...Pint Night at the Dog and Duck Pub. 2 dollar pints (2.50 for the Imperial), every Tuesday night. How could two poor college students living in Hyde Park pass this up? From there, a grand tradition was born. Almost every Tuesday from that point on could find a group of us gathered to drink fine beer, eat pub grub and listen to the finest juke box in town. We were there for sporting events and elections, Pint Night Congresses and Trivia Nights. Farewell send offs to good friends and warm homecomings for comrades returned or visiting. It was a custom embraced and beloved from all corners.

But now...as I prepare to leave Austin for the sunny shores and hopeful fortune and glory of the City of Angels, an age must come to an end. Tonight, July 11 2006, will be my last regular Pint Night for some time. So if you're free after 10 or so and feel like slaking your thirst with a few pints of lager, ale or whatever fine brew you may choose...come on down and help me close down the Dog and Duck one final time!

Ta.

I've got the OoB meeting til ~10:30, but I see no reason why I can't throw back a few at the old D&D after that.

...even though you told me that the last "Last Pint Night" was actually your Last Pint Night.

I'm beginning to question whether you're moving to LA at all.

You work your life away and what do they give?
