WTF? This is terrifying, and unnecessary. 20 would be pushing it, but at least it wouldn't make me fear for your health and well-being.

This assumes an ability to immediately determine what's useful and beautiful. In my experience both of these sometimes take years to reveal themselves.
Ratliff's goal is to convince everyone to remain exactly as they are. Which is kinda noble if you think about it?

mid year checkpoint:

Still to do:

Professional
- Apply to and get into grad school
Arts
- Follow through on a commission of a new piece of organ music written in honor of my father
- Be more assertive in regards to photography
Civic
- Find new homes for the two Moonlight Towers that are currently in storage
- Follow through on Warehouse District preservation effort
- Improve downtown parks programming and maintenance
Personal
- Run a full marathon
- Take more risks – be more vulnerable

well, i ended the year with a number of goals still in-process, but it was still a good year. hopefully 2011 will bring more positive change.

i think i'm going to refrain from lists in 2011, though. lots of stuff in motion as it is. picking which to-dos are worth putting on a list of some greater importance seems arbitrary.

work hard. be open to change. that's my resolution.

Hmmm... I guess someone should start a thread for 2011 goals...

Off to do it...

wow...i'm hesitant to put any 2011 goals, since i pretty much accomplished NONE of my 2010 goals.

i mean, i still did and accomplished plenty, but man...other than the rather passively stated "contemplate a Neil Gaiman format," i didn't do one thing on that list. sigh...

Well, for pete's sake - no-one has put a single thing on the 2011 goals thread yet. I'm going to give it a couple of days and then delete it. I will then assume that y'all have decided 2010 was so great that you can afford to run on inertia for the next year.

Brockman, maybe your post was so honest and forthright that it humbled everyone into silence.

I'm all about planning, making lists, checking off boxes, and challenging myself, etc.. . I'll come around and do it here eventually. For the moment, though, I still have my hands full working off some of the 2010 hanger-ons. I'll get there, though, I will. I'll post it on the 2011 thread, too.

Oh...

Gracious, two things I am rarely aiming for on this here forum. Sorry, I should have been sillier.
