Ugh, Cowboys, ugh.
Brees is awesome, so glad to see a 'too short' QB from Pflugerville is doing so well.

Thanks, but..
My last name is spelled Wesely.
Oh, that other Drew fellow. He's good also, he's like the Drew of Pro Football.
If he is a God, though, who does he thank on ESPN after winning a game?

Re: Thanks, but..
I think as any true god would, he thanks his coaches, teammates and himself for all of the hard work.Dru Down wrote:If he is a God, though, who does he thank on ESPN after winning a game?
Here's an odd piece of trivia: Drew Brees is 7th in line for Pope.

As of week 2, Brees and crew are gonna play deep into the off season.
Ray Lewis is a 14 year veteran and is still quicker, meaner, and smarter than just about any defensive player out there.
That Dallas scoreboard is ridonkulous.

Agreed. Right now, I'm feeling whoever wins a Vikes/Saints showdown goes on to win it all. NFC's gonna take it this year.arthursimone wrote:saints are 11-0 yall

F*** you Breedlove.
VIKINGS! FARVE FOR MVP!
That said - Brees does rock. I will enjoy the heck out of any putative Vikes/Saints game.

yeah, the NFC championship game's gonna be big
Favre has a top-notch backfield, so even though he's having a great year, I'm not really MVP-impressed
even Brees has lots of help on both sides of the ball
I have to say that Peyton Manning deserves it, that team would be *nothing* without him. He is insanely valuable to his organization
all that said, if I had a vote, I'd vote for Jamarcus Russell, just to be mischievous

Point taken, but Farve has taken several fairly average players (Syd Rice and V. Shiancoe) and made them look like Fitz and Gates. He's taken Percy Harvin to school and made a beast out of him.arthursimone wrote:yeah, the NFC championship game's gonna be big

In other words - picture the Vikes with T-Jax or Rosencopter at QB. Sure - great D-line, decent O-line and monster backfield would have kept them in the hunt (maybe) but 10-1 (that loss arguably due to a bad tripping call) without Farve? Uh-uh.
Interesting stat lines:
Manning: TD-24/INT-11/Yds-3415/QBrating-102.5/comp%-70.4
Farve: TD-24/INT-3/Yds-2874/QBrating-112.1/comp%-69.3
Brees: TD-27/INT-9/Yds-3117/QBrating-112.6/comp%-68.8
Pretty comparable - especially considering Farve doesn't have a Reggie Wayne or a Marques Colston.
P.S. When did Brett become a brutally efficient game manager?!
P.P.S The only thing that really concerns me about a NO/MIN matchup is Colston (6'5") v. Winfield (5'9" after several visits to doc Procrustus). Jared Allen and co. are going to have to get Brees on the ground a lot.
