WaffleFest Pro Tips for Improvisers

Post by Roy Janik »

Here's a few things that might help you to promote your WaffleFest shows, which start tomorrow. I sent some of these out to troupe contacts, but maybe not everyone got forwarded that email.

If you want to share a direct link to buy tickets to YOUR show:

1. Go to the Wafflefest page at http://www.hideouttheatre.com/wafflefest
2. Right-click on the "Buy tickets" button for your show.
3. Choose "Copy Link Location" or something similar.
4. Share that link with people.

Note: clicking the button and then copying the resulting URL will not work.

There is a Facebook event:

here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=178662098825
Please only invite people from Austin and the surrounding area. It's pretty easy to filter.

If you have a fan page for your troupe, ask your fans to invite people they think would like it.

Here are some images you can feel free to use:

We still need volunteers:

PGraph plays every Thursday at 8pm! https://www.hideouttheatre.com/shows/pgraph/

Here's a few things that might help you survive WaffleFest 2009.

10 - be sure to see LOTS of improv with your waffles; AIC+waffles= delicious

09 - if you feel your energy dip, time for more waffles

08 - applaud loudly at all shows; gets the sugar flowing through your bloodstream

07 - volunteer; it's best way to get to see the show for FREE, and you have access to all the secret toppings

06 - choose who you want to see & get those tickets in advance

05 - you can't heckle with your mouth full, so keep chewing

04 - hang onto your bowl & fork; ideally, bring your own

03 - don't be afraid to get up and get more waffles

02 - syrup to waffle ratio is ideally 1:1

01 - don't eat before you go

Waffle Fest rocked it tonight with a sold-out 8pm show and a full, fun 10pm show. Quality abounded and we went through 22 cans of donated Batter Blaster brand waffle mix.
