Sauces and Dips Party

What do people's Sundays on the 9th or 16th in July look like? I'm trying to pick a day to have a party.

I officially closed on the condo and so I'm now a home-owner. I'd love to have you all over for a Sunday afternoon open house party.
(I don't want to do a loud all-night affair until I know how cool the neighbors are with it. Besides, Sundays seem more laid back for people schedule-wise and it is easier to just come and go.)

Theme: Sauces and Dips

Admission: To join the party you must bring a sauce, a dip, something to put in a sauce or a dip, or alcohol. Some of all of the above will also be provided by the host, but the more the merrier!

I'm available either of those Sundays. This'll be a good warm up for the all night, loud, drunken pool party at my place on the 22nd.

the 9th looks lovely and temperate for me.

the 16th looks like a long desert filled road between here and L.A. since Jon and I will be leaving on the 15th or 16th.

in other words...my vote is for the 9th.

I have rehearsal Sunday nights ad infinitum, but I'll be there after with some stinky Armenian-style hummus. (that's khooo-mooos to us hairy Armos!)

and 9 is the only number you can do that with. which is why it's a magic number.

It is with heavy head and sad heart that I must postpone the Sauces and Dips party.

A number of people have expressed interest who have conflicts with workshops, meetings, and other such things. And on top of that I still have no refrigeration which limits the ability to prepare anything in advance or keep any dips--or more importantly beer--cold.

So, pending the purchase of a new refrigerator and less busy Sunday, the party is on haitus for the time being.
