Brently is back + spinning Nov 21st, come drink with me!
Hi friends. It's me, Brently Heilbron. Former Monks Night out/90% Effective/BestofAustin/Littlest Jew and general Fudgetown Dandy. How are you?
I'll be spinning records at Saba on Sunday Nov 21st. Come drink with me! Austin, I've missed you and have returned to embrace you with open arms. (I promise I won't wear my Slim Goodbody suit...unless you ask nicely).
But that aside. Where have I been?
Recently, I have been in LA taking no easy path in a series of bizarre but awesomely WTF gigs. I was a physical comedian in an opera directed by Woody Allen, opened for Rudy Ray "Dolemite" Moore on the rode, memorized R. Kelly's Trapped in the Closet in its entirety, emceed for Paul McCartney, currently touring with Robert Schimmel, started a micro comedy record label to release the work of my peers, and had two little chitlens who rule cool school. What kind of career is that? Certainly not a strait and stable one. Yes, A strange one. A FUN one. Something we all share as Austinites.
I can't wait to see the people I know and meet the rest. I want to learn what everyone's been up to and why. Ain't these thrilling times? I think it's amazing what has happened to the Austin comedy scene. It done exploded. Real good, like.
So...I am bringing my family back to teach my two small children the meaning of Queso. I'd love to turn Sunday night at Saba into a regular ComixH8Comix salon but let's start with this WELCOME! Can't wait to see you guys.
ONWARD! Hope to see you on the 21st!
All Things Delicious,
Brently

Keeping All Things Delicious, since 1976.
Hey, yeah it was. In fact we're putting it up again in LA Nov 6th, possibly Chicago in a few months but most importantly, I need peeps for an Austin run in December. It's an awesome epic experience, but that much R. Kelly has the potential to break your brain!

I approve. Brently is extremely funny, prolific, and not ever uppity.

Hey! I did this with Kerri Lendo, David Toscano, and Patton Quinn in 2005! If you do an Austin run, I wanna know the deets. Cause' you stole my idea. Which we all stole from R. Kelly!brently wrote:Hey, yeah it was. In fact we're putting it up again in LA Nov 6th, possibly Chicago in a few months but most importantly, I need peeps for an Austin run in December. Trapped in the Closet at OoBWest is one of my favorite theater experiences evah. Look for it at a theater near you.

Welcome back, Brently!
Brently has been way funny for a way long time. I'm glad to have you back in the community.
Fun fact: Brently's improv troupe 90% Effective was the first one I auditioned for when I got to Austin and was I think a Freshman at UT. And I totally didn't get cast! But it's been 10 years and I think I've healed....
Hope to see your shows and stuff soon!
