Independence Day Bash at the Maxwell Silver Hammer Farm!

Post by Rev. Jordan T. Maxwell »

If you're not completely exhausted from offending people in Blue Maestro...If you haven't had your fill of drinking and socialization at Jeremy's big Bar-B-Q...If you have no other plans for how to celebrate the birth of our nation (and no, Phil, watching Birth of a Nation does not count)...if you like beer, fireworks and swimming...

...then it'd be cool if any of you want to come out to the farm on the 4th. I mean, I always have a few people over and it's kind of fun. You can, like, drink. And we do fireworks. And there's a pool if you want to go swimming. Someone usually ends up naked. And it's not always me! (no running on the rafts this time, though! i had to spend the rest of the week cleaning up those little foam balls...)

Anyway, here's the deal. Fourth of July, Independence Day, whatever you want to call it...it's my favorite holiday. And this will be my last one in Austin, so like every year I'm inviting folks out to celebrate with me and my family. So if you want to get drunk, blow shit up and go swimming at night...and don't mind driving out to Bastrop County...let me know! Give me a call and let me know if you're interested and i'll give you directions. We'll probably get going around 9 or 10. There will be some snacks and beer, but it'd be a good idea to bring stuff too!

So find me in person, call me at 512 635 6216 or e-mail me at jtmaxwell@aol.com and we'll celebrate America's Sweet Two Hundred and Thirtieth together! 8)

okay, slight change in plans...

we'll be starting earlier in the day, around 4 or 5 and wrapping up around midnight (though if some people are lingering, that's cool). We'll have snacks, but if you want something more to eat bring it with ya and we can fire up the grill or microwave or whatever.

it's also going to be BYOB and BYOF(ireworks), so if you plan on having more than one or two to drink or doing more than just watching the spectacle of explosions, please bring a few provisions to help shore up our stockade.

again, give me a call or shoot me an e-mail if you want directions. otherwise, have a good Fourth!

Soooooooo...ummmmmmmm...

I can't (or I doubt I will be able to) make the BBQ on the 2nd...

But I can bring some meat (ahem - chicken quarters), and I'm free on the 4th...

Would an invite be extended to a relative stranger?

I'm also presuming by assuming there will be no Jam that particular Tuesday night...?

sure, i'll invite ya stranger...but i reserve the right to kick you out if you turn out to be a douchebag. besides, you're a friend of Morrow's, so you can't be all bad. shoot me an e-mail or Myspace message if you do decide to come and i'll give ya directions. take it easy! 8)

absolutely. just give me a call or if you're at the Hideout tonight ask me in person and i'll give you directions.

if anyone's planning on coming beyond those who've already contacted me, please let me know so i can get you directions and have a rough head count of who all is coming out so i can make sure we've got a good supply of snacks for ya (and that there's enough volume in the pool to fit all your sorry asses. :P )

thanks to everyone who came out yesterday to celebrate the Fourth with us! I had a great time with all of ya and my family really enjoyed meeting you all...well, those of you they were meeting for the first time anyway. :P Sorry we got rained on a bit, but i hope it was still a fun time for everyone. Oh, and my sister wanted me to personally thank Jon for the blueberry pastry dish he brought.

to the rest of you who didn't come out because of the rain, I have only one thing to say to you. Ahem...give me a second, I've been rehearsing this all day:

Pussies. That is all. 8)
