Gnap! Theater Projects's 8pm shows for the rest of '09

Post by shando »

Hey folks, Gnap! is taking a break for most of July from doing our 8pm prime time shows, but then we're back with a vengeance. Late nights continue as usual. We'll be hosting auditions as part of the August 16 Merlin Works mixer for these shows, so please attend if any of these shows after OoB strike your fancy. Please keep you eyes peeled for more information about that here on the boards.

Here's what we've got in store.

July 31--August 22
Two on Two. Two members from two different troupes running two different shows, alternating scenes back and forth, while also playing support in the other troupe's show.

August 28, 29
Back to school weekend. With the help of some of our GigglePants friends, we're going to turn the mother out with first week of school UT kids right before Out of Bounds. A little mini-festival with GP playing with Get Up at 8 pm on Saturday, Austin's Next Top Impoviser in a prime time slot on Friday, an extra No Shame, etc etc. A little sampler mini-fest of all we do with cheap student prices for everybody in the audience.

September 1--7
Out of Bounds, baby!! No Gnap! shows at SVT.

September 11 & 12
The Actor's Challenge. Prominent local stage actors will join us in doing some longform improv, most for the first time ever.

September 18--26
No prime time Gnap! shows--SVT is renting the space out (late nights are unaffected).

October 2-17
A festival of hybrid performance, tentatively titled "Just Like A Rodeo." First weekend we are pairing with Church of the Friendly Ghost to present a show based on Joh Zorn's game composition Cobra, but with improv actors added to the mix with music. Second weekend, Jennifer Micallef's Between the Lines--dance, music, improv all mixed together. Following weekend big variety show with different kinds of performers from all over town.

Plus a couple of events still TBA.

October 23--November 21
Dusk: Improvised Pro-Abstinence Tween Vampire Erotica. 'Nuff said.

November 27/28:
A special post-Thanksgiving puppet show by Sara Farr

December 4--December 19
A super special holiday show TBA. It might involve math.

Thanks for your support. 2010 schedule coming this fall.

I know some musicians that would probably be into that. Let me know if they're searching for performers.
