40 hour marathon clips & footage

Post by Brian Boyko »

Hey - could y'all do me a favor? If you have any pictures, headshots, small video clips, whatever from the 40 hour Improv - either promo material or stuff taken at the show - could you send that to brian.boyko@gmail.com ? It would be appreciated for the video rendering.

Probably doesn't need saying, but I have stuff here:

And there's some of the promo material here:

I'll also be uploading some pics later.

Yeah, I didn't think about it until 4 AM, but I got some decent shots (for an iPhone 3G) of PGraph's CHAIRS set and a quick dance moment afterward, which conveyed the spirit of sleep deprivation.

There was something oddly amazing about watching improv from 2 to 5 AM.

I kind of try to treat it like a job with a deadline, because otherwise, I don't do anything. I just take naps and watch TV.

Thanks guys.

I'll be picking up the last 16 hrs of footage tonight, but I wanted to share what I've got for the intro so far.

If we could get headshots of the core 8, I could put them in there, no problem - this is only a draft.

Yes, quite. That is definitely one of my favorite views of Austin. When can we expect the extended three-disc DVD package?

I'm sorry guys.

I only got up to hour 36. The last three hours, for whatever reason, aren't on the tape. I don't know if the camera got bumped or something, but anything past Hour 36 is gone to the ether.

Actually, upon periodically checking up on the camera, I noticed the camera somehow got set into demo mode and somebody slid the observation window panels in front of the camera. I tried notifying the other improvisers, but they all said I shouldn't worry about it and that somebody else had it all under control.

Chances are, somebody futzed with it while I was outside of the tech booth, and since somebody slid the observation window panels in front of it, they were probably thinking, "Gee, who would leave their camera on in the middle of a festival like this? How careless!"

What is the last piece of footage you have before going dark?

It was between Hour 36 and Hour 37.

The observation windows were not in front of the camera in the shot.

There's also a possibility that the camera goes dark automatically after recording unattended for 16 hours or so.

It's ok. It's in the ether where improv is meant to live.

You work your life away and what do they give?
You're only killing yourself to live

It's probably a good thing if the Truth Chair show got lost in the ether. That was some intimate shit and a really interesting discussion between the people on stage and friends in the audience.

That being said, it would really suck if the 4 AM CHAIRS show was lost.
