So the epic difficulty of filling the audience for all these shows is sneaking up on us. Can you help?

We need people to pledge to come see shows at weird hours.

Will you kick off the marathon at 5pm on Friday with Maestro and happy hour beer prices?

Will you stay up all night on Friday with us and our guest troupes?

Will you party with us at 9am on Saturday morning? Free Mimosa party in the greenroom from 9am to 11am -- with free mimosas!

Will you watch What the Dickens!? our very first crack at improvised Dickens which will run this coming November and December?

Will you check out the Cubs vs White Sox with Jeremy Lamb and Craig Kotfas providing play by play and our marathon improvisers dubbing over the commercials?

Will you stay up all night on Saturday with us and more guest troupes?

Will you come to the final show at 8am on Sunday morning to see eight improvisers stripped bare of all their filters, inhibitions and sanity by 40 hours of this thing that we all love? And then join us for a Bloody Mary party with free bloody marys and breakfast tacos?

Pledge your support here.

I want to stress that while this event -is- a fundraiser, the last thing we want to do is continuously beg improvisers for money. What we want out of you is what you do best... supporting, getting the word out, and cheering the crazy people who are doing this on. Especially in the wee hours. It's entirely possible that the 4 am shows will have little audience, but just the fact that the marathon is happening should bring people in to the shows happening during more sane hours. So anyone who can be there in the middle of the night to keep up moral would be most welcome.

I, for one, will be liveblogging the whole thing. More on that later.

Seriously. All of you folks have wicked social networks - use them! This is the kind of batshit insane thing that makes Austin a place that I love to live. Bring out some friends or coworkers and show them a raw piece of Austin weirdness on stage

The official marathon tag, I've just decided, is 40hourimprov.

So on twitter, use #40HOURIMPROV as a hashtag, and mark photos on flickr with 40HOURIMPROV. and wherever else you crazy kids hang out these days.

Is there an official invite to this floating about on Facebook? I'll gladly invite others and post it on my profile to help promote.

I think it would particularly well if we have one massive invite to the whole event, and individual troupes can work their magic, sending that big invite out to folks and get them to come to their show block (or more!)
