Hideout Appriciation Day

What was great was that it was beyond the usual maintenance stuff. There were so many things done that were part of the NEW Hideout. The mural, the cabinets in the green room, the pictures all over the bathroom, etc.

Glad to be a part of it all.

No kidding. I couldn't believe how many people I saw scurrying around the theater today. I felt like the narrator in Fight Club, waking from a coma to find a house full of space monkeys. Except instead of being brainwashed drones making soap and explosives out of rendered human lard, you're all awesome generous people who play make believe on stage.

Woo!

Seriously, there were a ton of people there. A clean, bolted-together stage excites the crap out of me.

Save a space on the wall of pictures for The Starter Kit! We have to get off our collective butts and get one up there.

Oh, and I'm going to try to have my own little gift for The Hideout's grand re-opening ready for Friday too. It will also need space on a wall.

Thank you guys for showing so much love to the Hideout. Our play space is really coming together and I can't wait to see the process as it evolves.

I want to give a shout out to all the hard-working people who were there. (Let me know if you were there, but not on the list - I got a little side tracked after a few hours!)

Justin - saved a huge piece of hideout history.
Belinda - looked great even in work clothes.
Madeline - cleaned, pulled, sorted, etc.
Jeff - made the utility closet usable
Jason - made the light booth pretty and functional (madeline helped with that,too)
Ratlif - hauled tons of junk down stairs, then cleaned the bathroom.
Kerri - sorted, stacked and organized all the backstage crap
Jon Bolden- put together the new table, made the railings behind the chairs possible, fixed a bench, and generally helped constantly.
Valerie - made curtains and helped with the mural
Curtis - was a machine - he cleaned everything - twice - then painted
Emily B - made the box office a place you could actually work in and cleaned up the pictures for re-hanging
Nancy - also did the box office and pictures and cleaned out side
Topping- was our camera person and took charge of painting the air duct
Noah - Did everything
Robert- helped on the stage
Catherine- cleaned the handrail down the stairs, wipe board, and made the soda's cold
Henry - scrubbed the floor
Neil - assembled and hung the cabinets and helped with the projector
Scratch - cleaned the risers and under the risers, plus lots of other cleaning
DJ - hung most of those pictures in the bathroom.
CJ - Stage, AC, Mural
Ashley - painted on the air conditioning duct, plus cleaning
Asaf - Air duct, ladder wizard, re-painting chairs and benches, games
Meghan - assembled the cabinets.
Sara Farr- was there anything that woman didn't do - Wonder Woman!
Kaci - designing and painting the mural, also marathon shopping
Mike - Railings at the back of the audience, cleaning, P.Terry run
Andy - being able to figure out anything, stage re-construction, butt of jokes
Roy - projector, cabinets, sound, stuff
Kareem- marathon shopping - stage re-construction and painting
Jessica- bossing people around, ordering food that I didn't cook, and trying to look busy.

There is a projector upstairs now? Is there also internet access on the booth computer? Or, if one were to bring in a lap top could you connect to the internet from upstairs?

There -is- a projector. I still need to get a long video and monitor cable. hoping to do that in the next few days.

There's not currently internet access on the booth computer, but I'm working on that. But if you bring a laptop, you can definitely connect to the wireless in the cofeeshop.

I'll update here when I get the cabling and stuff set up.

The BEST part was when I first showed up and Madeline thought that I was dressed up to clean! Like I would wear lime green to clean in? What kind of tramp do you take me for?
