Free Photography Workshop
I've wanted to do this for awhile and realized I had a huge commnity of people I could reach out to. I am interested in hosting a free photography workshop. It would include the following;
- basic intro to manual photography and SLR settings
- tips & tricks for better photos with point & shoot & SLR cameras
- intro to equipment and technical talk
- encouraging participants to bring questions & their cameras
- walking around and taking pictures together. Discovering questions and answers on the way
- learning how to find interesting light and composition
- Hanging out & meeting new people
Anyone interested? If so, I'll actually organize time & place. Did I say Free yet? Free!

Re: Free Photography Workshop
Yeah, I'm totally interested! I've been wanting to get back into photography for a while, but a) no sweet SLR, b) no time to learn all the fancy fiddly bits on the SLR when I get it, and c) I already got too much shit to do, man. But, yes! I'm expecting a paycheck soon, which will allow me to resolve a), and a pile of dumb determination that should help with the rest.Jon Bolden wrote: Anyone interested? I've got my eye on something already, but I'm always open to suggestion - what kind of digital SLR do you like for, say, under a grand?

I was just going to suggest that! Thanks Roy. That part of town is a cornucopia of photo ops.Roy Janik wrote:Awesome! I'd like to suggest that we start at the Hideout, and get some tips on shooting on the stage, and then walk around downtown and the capitol to get some outdoor shots.
As for camera questions, those are great things to discuss at the meeting. I'll start looking for a date to have it. Probably a Saturday or Sunday early afternoon.
I have two spare SLRs that I need to make sure are working and I can bring them out for folks to use.
