Ok, so you're really poor and underprivileged, but this is very general--- this shed could be anywhere. What is your address?

I'm such a woman that I would rather stop arguing than continue.
But then you miss the fun, Kaci. Embrace your inner combative guerrilla raconteur!

P.S. Senor Dodgson - have you had the opportunity to introduce yourself on the Introductions thread here?

Kaci, PLEASE do not stop saying what you think. No one is saying that.
Maybe if there is a funny/silly post, and you want to post something serious, just start a new thread (or not, and people can deal.)

I did take exception to the comment by Kathy about anger disguised as humor, which I think was directed at me. My posts did not come from a place of anger, but I can see how someone could think that. I guess there can be a thin line between "gritty realism" and "anger"

It sounds like you broke some new ground and that things ended up pretty well for you. I also have been in similar types of situations to what you described and have seen and known many women over a number of years in different situations and was trying to express some of that.

Too bad this parade got rained on because I, at least, was having fun.

Everyone should feel free to post whatever they want wherever they feel inspired to do so.
I feel bad for making kaci feel like she shouldn't express herself by expressing myself.
Don't let me put an end to your discussion about women's societal roles if that's what ya'll want to discuss.

Sent to me by a colleague in the commercial music world, this ought to piss a few people off - or make them laugh:
