About the treasurer position from current treasurer, Mike McGill:
Responsible for managing the purse of the AIC and keeping the organization fiscally responsible. He or she is also charged with recieving income from event / festival producers and cutting checks for expenses in a timely fashion. This person will create a budget once a year and assisting the managing director with assembling the application and documenting the final report for city funding. The work of the treasurer can be done on one's own time schedule and the overall time commitment is fairly low except for the once a year application to the city - but that should be improved as we now have a template to base future applications on.
The treasurer also carries with it the honorary title of 'bad-ass' which can be abbreviated at the end of your name with a ', B.A.' .
