Zach is a good friend, an awesome improviser (he will be guesting around town next week) and a kick-ass teacher.
We are keeping the price low to benefit the community and put a little traveling money in Zach's pocket while he is here for SXSW.

WORKSHOP #1 SATURDAY MARCH 21 11AM-2PM
SPREAD TO SURVIVE (expand your world of characters)
During any given scene there are an infinite number of different scenes taking place simultaneously in the same world at the same time. Explore new relationships implied by the current scene and make connections so that you are never at a loss for new inspiration. You will learn how to honor a scene without feeling stuck; You will build an interconnected but independent community of characters to draw from during the show; You will have more fun after you start to improvise Dirty South-style.

WORKSHOP #2 SUNDAY MARCH 22 11AM-2PM
YOU'RE ALWAYS ON (workshop for performers with small ensembles)
Zach Ward started performing two-person improvisation in 2001 with Dual Exhuast (Hailed by the Chicago Tribune as one of the Top 10 “Most Influential Comedy Duos of the Past Decade” Critics Choice, Highly Recommended). Zach explains why he believes choices are made, and how some of those choices can force your scenes to become work and limit our sense of play. You will learn to play each two-person scene as if it were the WHOLE SHOW. And soon, after you begin to rock consecutive two-person scenes, you will consistently walk away from rock solid 2-person or 3-person shows. Begin to improvise so that technique becomes reflex and the natural rhythm of the show will help you to make the right moves when the scene wants them to be made.
