ColdTowne Restructure

Post by York99 »

Dear friends, colleagues, etc.,

As you may or may not have heard, as of Wednesday February 4th, Chris Trew and Tami Nelson are no longer with ColdTowne.

Even a semi-private message board such as this is not the proper forum for the details of the restructuring, but we felt that an announcement to the Austin improv community was necessary.

We will continue classes and shows as scheduled and will make every effort at a seamless transition.

It is our understanding that Chris and Tami have secured a rehearsal space and plan to open up shop in the very near future. We wish them well in all future endeavors.

Thank you all for your support.

Sincerely,
ColdTowne

Justin, I appreciate there being official word like this. I heard about this yesterday and felt weird knowing about it talking about it. Being upfront about stuff is truly professional, as strange as a forum might be for news of this kind. Good luck to all.

This is has been a really hard week for everyone in the community, from those intrinsically involved with the above situation to even those who have just started classes...

I am sure that as the days and weeks pass the evolution of Austin Improv will be stronger than it ever has.

With new theaters on the horizon and new classes forming.
With new ensembles assembling and new people moving to Austin for improv every month.

Improv communities around the country have withstood awfulnesses greater than this... and as much as this sucks right now, this too shall pass.

Onward improv soldiers...

Peace and Love. Peace and Love.
If you disrespect your character, or play it just for laughs, it will sell some gags, but it's all technique.
It's like watching a juggler-- you'll be impressed by it, but it's not going to touch you in anyway. "
