Important OOB West Announcement

Post by mdalonzo »

After a great deal of thinking and discussing the subject, we have decided not to continue with Out of Bounds West. This decision was based on a lot of factors, not the least of which was the financial climate we are currently living in, and the difficulty and expense required to continue to produce a festival when people are finding their entertainment dollars stretched beyond their means. In addition, it was our intention to expand the festival each year to make it better for everyone, and the price of doing that was just more than we could afford.

Jeremy and I are committed to continuing to grow and expand the original Out of Bounds, and to continue its phenomenal growth. Not having to divide time between two festivals, for Jeremy especially, means that Out of Bounds Austin will have the attention it needs to do that.

We would like to thank our staff, who knocked themselves out to make two tremendous festivals happen here, as well as all of you who came to Los Angeles and supported Out of Bounds West over the past couple of years. Also, we’d like to thank the Westside Eclectic, who were always very supportive and without whom we would not have been able to mount the festivals we did.

Thank you again, all of you, for making Out of Bounds West such a personally gratifying experience, and I look forward to seeing you in Austin for OOB 2009.

"Oh, shit. We're being pulled over."
"Is it us?"
"No, it's someone else, and he's pulling us over to tell us who it is, like a courtesy"

This makes me sad. I was looking forward to making it out for the first time this year. Understandable, with the financial stuff and what, but still sad.
