cell plans in Austin

Post by arthursimone »

as a self-satisfied recluse, I don't use my phone too much, so I'm kind of done with paying even the minimum monthly plans with ATT/Cingular, which barely even registers in my home. 'time I got a 512 number anyway.

T-Mobile, Verizon, and Virgin I think are all pay-per-minute options; anyone have something like that? How's your general reception, etc.?

I have verizon and have been very happy with it. I switched from TMobile because reception was bad and too many dropped calls. I have a standard plan, but my wife used to have their pay as you go plan. It was good, but a bit of a hassle to keep reloading minutes. sounds like she used her phone more than you use yours though. hope that helps!

One thing I like about T-Mobile is they have a map of their coverage on their site. It's pretty specific and pretty accurate.

I bought my Virgin Wireless phone for $9 at Target. There is no contract and I pay $7/month plus 10 cents a minute. I've never been happier with a cell phone.
