AKROYD CHAMPIONSHIP ANNOUNCED

Post by ChrisTrew.Com »

This year ColdTowne will be hosting the first ever AKROYD CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION!

WHEN: Jan. 17th (during see.hear.speak.four after party)
WHERE: ColdTowne Theater Parking Lot

What is Akroyd?
Akroyd is a ColdTowne Theater original game created in October 2007 by Cody Dearing and Lance Gilstrap. The game ignited the ColdTowne Theater community in a hearty competition of skill development, stat growth and style definition. The game was born out necessity and opportunity while echoing one of the most valued tenets of our improvisation study - Waste Nothing: orange cones and a pole from an old fence in the parking lot. The object of Akroyd is to catapult an orange parking cone on top of an Akroyd pole.

To score an Akroyd the athlete must throw the cone from it’s top in a way that it rotates at least once from a distance of at least 10 feet and then land it on the pole.

Competitors will be judged on number of goals attained, style, distance, and height.

This is indeed a great announcement and everybody should be thrilled.

I would also like to take this opportunity as the official commissioner to say: It's Spelled "Aykroyd".

I'm open to an intentional misspelling, but the request needs to be filed at the home office (my Volvo).

I can't wait until the cone-ball league takes on this imposter AKROYD fad. The AKROYDERS won't stand a chance from ten feet against the cone-ball ally-oop.
They call me Dollar Bill 'cause I always make sense.

Cone-ball sounds like Womens Basketball.

I hit a "cone-royd" with a double flip from, like thirty feet out once...a long time ago at Coldtowne. Kabam!
Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.
