New Improv Class through UT Informal Classes system

Post by Wesley »

Spread the word, it is official, improvisation is back in the UT Informal Classes catalog and in order to continue gaining UT support and growing our presence in the minds of students on campus, we need to put in a good showing! Plus, this class will get lots of advertising via UT and will serve as a gateway to introduce those who might not have found the community otherwise to the various theaters, classes, and shows around town.

Beginning Improvisational Theater covers the basics of improvisation and improvisational storytelling. It teaches you the language of the artform and helps build the basic skills of character, relationship, and freeplay that one needs to move on to more advanced classes and on-stage performance opportunities.
All are welcome, but the class is especially geared toward those with between 0 and less than 6 months experience in improv, and to those with other types of performance under their belt (such as acting) looking to branch out and learn about a new tool for their performance tool belt.

And how can you beat the price in this economy!
Six 3-hour classes for only $80 bucks!! Only $68 for UT students and faculty!!
This is a great, affordable way to get into improvisational theater!

Plus, it makes a great Holiday gift for a loved one!
(Give the gift of learning--of life experience--this year!)

The class is Saturdays from 1 to 4 starting Jan. 31st to March 7th. The room is not yet finalized, but will most likely be on or near the UT campus.

If you, or someone you know, has been wanting to take an introductory class and learn more about improvisational theater, here's how you sign up!

Go to the UT Informal Classes website, click on "View Classes" on the left, Accept the terms, and search for class or activity number 3604.401. From here you can sign up for the class!
(Because you have to accept the terms, I can't do a good direct link to the page, sorry!)

Wesley,
I composed an e-mail for the Austinites who attended Alan Arkin's last workshop with me.
Note: the class # is 3604.601. (Your message reads #3604.401, but the catalog image is correct.)
