Just flew in from Jet City

Post by Haze »

Hi there.

My name is John Hazlewood, and I'm new to town. I moved here from Seattle (with a brief stint in San Diego) with my wife, Kimber, who is attending graduate school for playwriting at UT.

I found Improvisation in college when I saw Minneapolis' Brave New Workshop. After starting to learn the craft over the next four years, I went to Seattle to earn my MFA in acting at the University of Washington. While there, I met Andrew McMasters, and became a proud uncle of Jet City Improv, where I taught and was a company member for more than a decade.

I am excited to be a part of this amazing Austin Improv community, and I look forward to meeting each of you!

Heya John! Welcome to town, and kudos to your wife. UT's playwriting program is pretty hoss (not that I did it though).

Some of you might have seen John when he guested (along with Andrew McMasters) with 1813 Drake a few weeks ago.

He is an awesome guy and an awesome improviser.

Welcome, Haze.

Hi! I met your fellow Seattleans in Hawaii, Dart and Brandon. So everyone from Seattle (or at least all improvisors) must be awesome.

That is very true! I was there and you kicked butt. You and I were in a one-line scene that rated a five. Only one of two times I have experienced that magic.
