Name of the Rose - by Umberto Eco

Pillars of the Earth - by Ken Follett; I have this in paperback, as well as on audio book, unabridged

World Without End - by Ken Follett (sequel to above)... as audio recording from iTunes; abridged & read by Richard E. Grant, that brittish guy from How to Get Ahead in Advertising

Whoops! I see now that you want a NON-fiction book. Sorry. Still, these are great, eh??

When it comes to NON-fiction, these are at the top of my reading list. I use them a lot in my work.

Thomas Merton's book about becoming a monk is supposed to be good.

The Seven Storey Mountain is the best known one. He wrote other books about monasticism, but I don't know them. I haven't read this, and while it's supposed to be a tough read, it's also considered a classic of the genre.
