I hope you guys like funk.
Same one I've had for years
Old battery's running down
It ran for years and years
Turn on the radio
The static hurts my ears
Tell me where would I go
I ain't been out in years
Turn on the stereo
It's played for years and years
An Otis Redding song
It's all I own
When the world is running down
You make the best of what's still around

That's rather comforting - my declining 401K won't have to last nearly as long as I thought it would.Jeff wrote:December 21 (or 22?) 2012 is the last day of the Mayan calendar. A great number of people are clinging to the prediction that the Mayan calendar ends when human civilization (as we know it) ends.

You live in Texas. Without air conditioning, you'll be too hot and sweaty to bother getting hot and bothered.nadine wrote:It occurs to me, if we lose electricity, one of the things I'll miss the most is my vibrator.
Also, you won't have good or the ability to cook it.

Good point about the heat, but there's always night time and the river.
As for cooking, I already have a solar oven, for when I geeked out a few years ago and made my own... and then bought one:

I found a solar battery charger for $60 on Amazon. I've added it to my Amazon Wish List *cough*
Of course, what I really probably should have but don't, is a GUN.
I guess I just have to find out who the Alpha males are when we degenerate into a barbaric society and ally myself with him.

I know who I'll be aligning myself with when the apocalypse comes...

I've seen the Terminator series and know what to expect (I also know how they did all those cool visual effects).
BTW, my name IS Sara.

(WTF?? How can I base my life on movies??? Little did you know, they are NOT just entertainment, but video logs of the future... )
