TJ and Dave movie, the AIC screening
Ask and ye shall receive...
WHAT: A very special screening of the film TRUST US, THIS IS ALL MADE UP, a documentary-in-progess about improv duo TJ & Dave.
WHEN: Saturday, September 13, 12:00 noon. Running time of the film is currently 87 minutes, plus there will be a Q&A session afterwards. Everything should be finished by 2:30pm at the latest.
WHERE: The Hideout Theater, downstairs
HOW MUCH: Absolutely free! But attendees will be asked to fill out a survey regarding the film and, if possible, hang around for the Q&A session with the director.
WHO: Alex Karpovsky, Austin-based filmmaker who made THE HOLE STORY, which garnered several film festival awards around the country; and WOODPECKER, which premiered at SXSW this past year.
WHY: The director is seeking feedback on this nearly-final cut of his film. Since improvisors are a major part of his target audience, he's excited to screen the film for the AIC in the hopes that your comments and questions will help to make the final edit of his film as tight as possible.
From the press release:
"Exploring the folds of trust and faith that underlie [TJ & Dave's] relationship as well as the transcendental forces that govern their improvisation, TRUST US, THIS IS ALL MADE UP features an unforgettable live performance recorded at New York's Barrow Street Theater earlier this year. Whether you're a student of improvisation or simply interested in the underpinnings of human imagination and the depths of mutual understanding, this journey will leave you laughing, guessing, and in awe of this altogether remarkable feat."
See you Saturday, if you can make it!
