ColdTowne Theater Now Accepting Submissions for see.hear.speak 4!
Image

January 15-18, 2009, marks the triumphant return of see.hear.speak, ColdTowne Theater's unique comedy performance festival, and submissions are now being accepted for all three nights. The deadline for submissions is October 20 and the festival lineup will be announced on November 1. Each submission must be accompanied by a submission fee of ten dollars. Each performance slot is roughly 25 minutes long.

see (Jan. 15) spotlights acts that blend video with live performance. Past acts have included cable-access divas The Cola Sisters, LA's Studio8.net, and Guided by Videos, featuring improv scenes inspired by found film footage.

hear (Jan. 16) is made up of acts that integrate music into their performance. Past acts have included alternative dance troupe Little Stolen Moments, the faux-French chansons of Le Sexy, and Jill Bernard's Drum Machine, an improvised musical.

speak (Jan. 17) is what it sounds like, though strong preference is extended to performers who mix up their spoken-word with a little something extra. Put it this way: Between a monologue and a monologue with a monkey, we're going with the monkey every time. Past performers have included Ratgirl, Bruto T. Clown, and the man-and-dog improv of Buddy Daddy.

closing night (Jan. 18 ) will feature some of the best alternative comedy acts from all over the map. Main event acts announcement coming soon!

Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.

I have no idea who that guy is. I'm guessing he makes music.
