No computer in the tech booth?

Post by vine311 »

Last time I was in the booth running tech at the Hideout there were two computers up there but neither of them are working as far as I can see. I did not think to bring an iPod, so I had to play music from the CD. This isn't that big of a problem but I'm wondering if there is a plan to replace the booth computer. If so, when will it happen?

The computer with the stickers on it (that is currently hooked up to the monitor, last I saw), "works". For some reason, the screen goes black after the startup thinger - it didn't do this with another monitor that I tried it with, so that's my theory. I'd suggest (and did, to Eric), that we find that little LCD that was in there before, or find a super cheap one somewhere, because I know that should work.

Other than that, it boots, it's got a fat disk on it, and iTunes is intalled and ready to be pumped up. So, monitorize that puppy and see what flies.

Last night I booted up the computer in the booth while doing a rehearsal at the Hideout. The computer freezes up while booting and says "Keyboard Error" on the screen. I tried unplugging the keyboard and rebooting and got the same message. I have no idea how to fix it but I do know that the computer does not work at this time. We will need to get this fixed before this weekend if possible. Anyone have any idea how to tackle this one?

I jiggled some cables, didn't see anything wrong, started the thing up and it seemed to work fine. Not sure what the deal is but it's working now.
