Pineapples. Poi and PGraph: An Improv Festival Fundraiser

Post by kbadr »

This is still a few weeks out, but I thought I'd announce it to get it on everyone's radar. This is your chance to see Adventure Squad, Badr & Janik, and PGraph all in one night! Come out and support Austin's "cutest", "most-villainous", "farcical", and "anachronistic" improv troupe!
Pineapples, Poi and PGraph: An Improv Festival Fundraiser

Parallelogramophonograph, named Best Improv Troupe by the Austin Improv Collective, is headed to the land of poi and pinapples for the Third Annual Hawaiian Festival of Improvisation. Much to PGraph's chagrin, award-winning improv doesn't buy plane tickets. Faced with the cruel reality of economics, or the cruel economics of reality, PGraph is going to do what it does best: perform completely improvised theatre!

To help pay for the festival trip, PGraph will perform one of its never-before-seen improvised plays, as well as auction off some one-of-a-kind items. Opening for PGraph will be the male and female halves of the troupe: Austin's favorite Girl Scout rejects "Adventure Squad", and 1928's favorite Vaudevillian duo "Badr&Janik." This show is guaranteed to entertain, as well as help deliver Austin's favorite improv troupe to Hawaii.

Plane tickets for PGraph. Improvised theatre for you. Everyone wins! Aloha!

Sunday, September 14th at 8pm

Parallelogramophonograph has been performing together for over two and a half years. They were recently awarded "Best of Fest" in FronteraFest 2008, and "Best Improv Group" by the Austin Improv Collective. They have performed around the country and at numerous venues around Austin. Through their ongoing Thursday show at ColdTowne Theater, PGraph has continued to create new show formats and push the boundaries of their improvisational skills. Parallelogramophonograph is always playful and funny, yet never afraid to let dramatic moments add the bitter to their sweet improvised stories.

I might possibly provide a pail of a pilsner-like potable to prompt the potential patronage.

A tropical beer? Maybe a pineapple pilsner to party for PGraph?

Actually a tropical theme would be really fun if lots of people got involved. Hawaiian shirts, sandals, leis, umbrella drinks. Although it might influence the players to go tropical subconsciously. haha! I think I just made a pun. Tropical - topical... back to work

That meant in like attending...you really don't want me running box. I'll pass out poi and pineapples though.
