Don't forget The National! A phenomenal group. St. Vincent is really cool, too. Super talented female guitar player who loves to keep oversampling herself.
I went to the Parish about 3 years ago to see Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and it really, really disappointed me. I'm hoping it was just a problem on the sound production side of things, but there was an extreme difference from the sound in the album. Luckily though, I stuck around after all the hipsters bailed out and was one of about ten to twenty people to catch the other band: The National. It was my first time to see them and I'll keep going to see them whenever they come through here.

The National is definitely an amazing show though.
Last ACL, they had a pretty crummy earlier spot and where all the other bands I usually enjoy live didn't bring it because of the early slot, they really pulled through and put on a great show.

I think "Fake Empire" is great, but I also love "Green Gloves." That song is creepy as hell when you really visualize the lyrics. What did it for me was seeing them live. It's hard to explain, but it's really evident that they enjoy what they do and share a strong bond (I guess you would if you were two pairs of brothers). Maybe I'm just biased from the feeling of a private party after everyone cleared out from the concert I mentioned before. Devendorf almost leads the band via drums and precision time-keeping, the Dessners compliment one another really well on guitar (I love when they interlock), and Berninger is quite witty (one of the reasons I'll admit John Popper is a guilty pleasure of mine).
